Associate Dean Luo Yuding participated in 2012 Shanghai University MBA Education Seminar

On May 31st, Associate Dean Mr. Luo Yuding was invited to participate in the 2012 Shanghai University MBA Education Seminar sponsored by Shanghai Institute of Management Sciences and co-organized by Tongji University School of Economics and Management. Executive Associate Dean of the School of International Business Administration of SUFE, Professor Jiang Chuanhai, as well as representatives from the MBA Admission Office of College of Business,SUFE attended the seminar. Leaders from 14 business schools including Tongji University School of Economics and Management, China Europe International Business School, Fudan University School of Management, Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University and Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, participated in the seminar together with heads of MBA programs.
 
Dean of Tongji University School of Economics and Management, Professor Huo Jiazhen, delivered the welcoming remark, and chairman of Shanghai Institute of Management Sciences, Professor Wang Fanghua addressed the meeting and presided over the seminar. The seminar was focused on two major topics: the building and management of MBA brands, and the internationalization strategy of MBA education. School representatives present at the meeting aired their views in the forms of either an impromptu speech, or PPT presentation, or free discussions. The seminar went on in an animated and lively atmosphere.
 
Associate Dean Mr. Luoyu Ding expressed in his speech that the advantages of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in the area of business education had provided a wealth of resources for the College of Business. In the pace towards internationalization, SUFE had achieved certain results in the internationalization of faculties: it has introduced more than 170 returnees from abroad and obtained outstanding achievements in the international academic arena. At the same time, College of Business,SUFE was also building up its own culture and brand bit by bit through the design of curriculum and classrooms. In terms of the integration of teachers and curriculum, COB had also achieved some breakthroughs. “Through reforming the education programs, we have set up the “combat simulation module” at the end of the semester to train students to obtain practical skills. In addition, we have also established cooperative relationships with the Berkeley Haas School of Business and other international top-class business schools, which allows us to learn the methods for constructing the core curriculum from them.”
 
At the meeting, participants from different universities shared their respective strategies and outcomes concerning the MBA education constructions, and entered into extensive discussions on such subjects as the trends and researches related to participating in the competitions of international MBA education, the promotion of MBA admissions, the national and international MBA education certifications and so on. The participating schools have reached a consensus on building the overall brand of Shanghai MBA education through joint efforts.
