On July 6, the press conference and award ceremony of the 2012 “21st-Century Business School Competitiveness Research” sponsored by the 21st Century Media was held in Beijing. COB, SUFE was honored with the title of 2012 China’s Top-ten Best Business School. Associate Dean of COB Luo Yuding attended the conference and award ceremony.

Tong Yunhuan, Secretary-General of the National MBA Education Steering Committee, Wei Jia’ning, Vice Minister of the Macroeconomic Research Department of the Development Research Center under the State Council, as well as leaders from major business schools, persons in charge of research and executive agencies, and the media attended the event.

At the conference, in the discussion about the culture of business schools, Associate Dean Luo Yuding mentioned that both the business environment and the business education in Shanghai were quite different from those in Beijing. Premier Zhu Rongji wrote an inscription for Shanghai National Accounting Institute, “No false accounting”, which denotes that in the business ethics in southern China, it is very important to scrupulously observe the most basic bottom line of morality.

Associate Dean Lu Yuding also mentioned that Shanghai University of Finance and Economics had been sticking to the principle of being true to their words and sincere in what they say in carrying out each task for international certifications. “Regardless of entrepreneurs or business schools, they all possess the same virtue”. He commented that if the business circle is a Vanity Fair, business schools must be the intense and refined version of it. It is fairly difficult for business schools to completely get rid of the current business environment. “So, we must be always down to earth in our behaviors, actions and education”.
