摘要:

Employees with multicultural backgrounds are increasingly part of the global workforce. Scholars suggest that these individuals may help to overcome challenges within multinational teams, though it is not understood exactly how. We addressed this research gap in a multimethod three-study design. First, we qualitatively identified five key cultural gap bridging (CGB) behaviors that improve intercultural collaboration in teams. Second, we quantitatively tested the relationship between multicultural identities and CGB behaviors. Drawing on social identity theory, we found that multiple cultural identities positively relate to CGB behaviors, which are mediated by cultural intelligence.
