College of Business held the beginning-of-term faculty meeting for the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year

College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics held the beginning-of-term faculty meeting for the second semester of the 2023-2024 academic year at its Wudong Road campus, aiming to plan for new developments in the new semester. The meeting was attended by the leadership team of the College of Business, as well as all faculty and staff members. The meeting were chaired by Zhang Lili, Director of the Administrative Office of the College of Business.

Summary of Winter Break Work and Key Work Deployment

COB Council Council Wei Hang first provided an overview of the College's work during the break and conveyed the key work deployments of the College in 2024 inareas such as party building leadership, moral education and talent cultivation system optimization, the construction of the "Double First-Class" initiative, operational support, and internal management.

Subsequently, Wei Hang summarized the progress made by the College of Business in various areas during the winter break, including party building, talent development, academic research, faculty team building, internationalization, cooperation and development, brand building, and operational support. He then outlined the key priorities for the College of Business in 2024. He emphasized that the College would take creating a benchmark department as guideline, innovatively integrating and promoting the concept of "integration and excellence." The College will comprehensively promote the "Three Comprehensive Education" reform, deepen talent development reform, and optimize enhancement efforts. Additionally, efforts will be made to advance the development of modern Chinese-style business disciplines, implement the strategy of talent-driven development, strengthen the core talent team capability with a focus on national-level talents, promote the establishment of international joint laboratories, expand the landing of new international joint education programs, and continue to advance in international accreditation and rankings.

COB Associate Dean Sun Qi delivered a presentation on the new changes, specific workflow and relevant time schedules in implementing the AOL system, in order to prepare for the new round of AACSB accreditation. Additionally, he provided a related overview of the current situation regarding the enrollment of professional degree graduate students.

Xingzhi Lecture

The "Xingzhi Lecture" is divided into two parts.

Ms. Xu Lili from the Human Resources Office conducted training on teacher-related regulations. Ms. Xu focused on the revisions and changes to the teacher title evaluation system, providing detailed explanations on various aspects such as the preparation work before the evaluation process, key points of the title evaluation procedure revision, rules for academic achievements recognition, and other relevant regulations regarding faculty management.

Ms. Chen Ji from the university press gave a presentation focused on " Application and Construction for New-Form Textbooks," providing an overview of relevant publishing requirements regarding application arrangements and requirements, as well as content elements of new-form textbooks.

New Employee Onboarding Ceremony

At the end of meeting, the College of Business held a welcome ceremony for the three newly hired faculty members, during which department heads presented them with the college emblem and took a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
