The MBA & EMBA Alumni Summit and the Chief Economists Forum of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics successfully held

On September 19th, the MBA & EMBA Alumni Summit and Chief Economists Forum of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE)were held in the Science Park of SUFE. The forum was co-hosted by the College of Business (COB) of SUFE, Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and the Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.. The theme of the forum was “New pattern, new economy and new health”. It was composed of three parts: the Chief Economists Forum, the Round Table Dialogue and the awarding ceremony of the Industry Associations of SUFE’s Alumni Association.

The forum invited many distinguished guests, such as Lianping, Chief Economist and Dean of Zhixin Investment Research Institute and former Chief Economist of the Bank of Communications, Wang Shaoqin, Vice Chairman of the Asian Financial Cooperation Alliance, Chen Shouwei, Secretary General of the Asian Financial Cooperation Alliance, Dr. Li Ming, Associate Director Of Respiratory and Critical Care of Shanghai Tenth People’s Hospital, Dr. Junjie Pan, Associate Director of Cardiology of Huashan Hospital,  Zhengrong Zheng, President of Entrepreneurial Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Wei Hang, Executive Associate Dean of College of Business, SUFE; , Wang Lanfeng, President of the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Chairman of the Bank of Suzhou, Zhang Zhijing, Executive Vice President of the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Chairman of Hangzhou Yuanman Import and Export Trading Co. , Ltd. , and Chen Jian, Vice President and Secretary General of the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Zhang Jing, Vice President of Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceutical Research Institute, and faculty members from the Department of World Economy & Trade, the Financiers’ Club and the MBA Center of the College of Business, SUFE attended the Forum. Wang Xuejing, the founder and CEO of Bohan Finance and Economics, served as the Forum's hostess.


Chief Economists Forum

Professor Lian Ping, Chief Economist and Dean of Research Institute of Zhixin Investment and former Chief Economist of Bank of Communications, delivered the keynote speech with the title “Open capital account and free exchanges of RMB” to SUFE’s MBA and EMBA alumni and students. From three aspects, namely, the significance of capital and financial account opening, rational understanding of capital and financial account opening and the risks, and the need of macro-prudence and micro-soundness for further opening up, Professor Lian discussed his views on promoting the opening of capital and financial account to other countries. Roundtable Dialogue


Wei Hang, Executive Associate Dean of College of Business , and Director of the MBA Center of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Wang Lanfeng, Director of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, President of the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Chairman of the Bank of Suzhou, Du Hui, Chairman of Lingjiu Fund (former Executive Director of Zhongtai Securities Research Institute), Zhang Jing, Vice President of Shanghai Green Valley Pharmaceutical Research Institute and Dr. Li Ming, Associate Director of Respiratory and Critical Care of Shanghai Tenth People’s Hospital, shared their research findings on “new pattern, new economy, and new health”, respectively.

Dean Wei discussed the COB's strategy to cultivate multi-disciplinary talents to adapt to the present environment during the roundtable session. Wang Lanfeng shared Bank of Suzhou’s exploration in Green Finance, Du Hui shared his view on fostering new economic growth points, while Zhang Jing analyzed the new health sector’s pharmaceutical challenges in tackling with difficult diseases with Alzheimer’s disease as an example. Li Ming discussed his thoughts on the concept of  Healthy China initiative.


The awarding ceremony of the Industry Associations of the Alumni Association


Finally, Wang Lanfeng, Director of the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, President of the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics,  and Chairman of the Bank of Suzhou and Chen Jian, Vice President and Secretary General  of the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, unveiled the plaque of the newly established Financial Investment Association, Career Life Association, Arts Association and Smart Car Association in SUFE’s MBA and EMBA Alumni Association. The forum then came to a satisfactory conclusion.

On July 17, 2021, the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was re-organized from the former MBA Alumni Association and the former Alumni Association of SUFEto better promote the interaction with alumni, and to better achieve the mission of serving the alumni, serving the alma mater and serving the society”.
