Shanghai University of Finance and Economics-Shanghai Jiaotong University Academic Exchange Program on Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management was successfully held

The “Shanghai University of Finance and Economics -- Shanghai Jiao Tong University Academic Exchange Program on Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management”, co-hosted by the Department of Human Resource Management at College of Business, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Department of Organizational Behavior at Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was successfully held on Sep 25th 2021. The exchange of academic research between two departments is the focus of this academic exchange. The academic exchange seminar included more than 20 lecturers and more than 60 postgraduate students from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

The Forum was co-chaired by Zhao Xiaoping and Shu Rui, representatives of young faculty from the two schools. Professor Chen Zhijun, Chairman of the Department of Human Resource at College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Lu Lin, Chairman of the Department of Organization and Management at Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, delivered the opening remarks and introduced to the doctoral students the background and objectives of the exchange activity, as well as the faculty of the two departments.

Next, Assistant Professor Lu Changhong, Ph.D. student Yang Feifan and Wang Haoding of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics gave academic reports respectively on the following topics: The influence of family-supporting motivation on employees’ job remolding and job security, colleagues’ response to employees’ job remolding, subordinates’ response to leaders’ pro-organizational unethical behavior, etc. Fan qingyue and Zhou Qiongyao, doctoral students at the Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, made reports on the formation process of team innovation output under the intervention of design thinking and the impact of socially responsible human resource management on employees’ environmentally-friendly behavior. Their findings triggered a robust discussion among the professors and students in session.

 

In the afternoon, the participating faculty members and students were divided into eight sub-forums. The students and the host faculty members discussed the present scientific research dilemma in the sub-forums. Faculty members then addressed the common issues, such as how to deal with anxiety and confusion in academic research, how to improve the writing of English papers, and how to form a harmonious faculty-student relationship, how to make the future career plan and so on. They shared their personal experiences in detail. The forum concluded with the alumni sharing session. Associate Professor Mo Chen, who graduated from the Department of Organizational Management at the Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and is currently working in the Department of Organization and Human Resources at the Harbin University of Technology, shared his opinion on how to keep a good research mindset and conduct good research.

The one-day academic forum offered a pleasant atmosphere of open conversation and left a lasting impression on the two departments' doctorate students. The event provides a platform for research exchanges among faculty and students between the Department of Human Resource Management at the College of Business, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and the Department of Organizational Management at Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It is crucial for improving the talent cultivation and carrying out higher level academic research in the fields of organization management and human resource management. Faculty and students from both departments expressed their anticipation that such events would continue to createa more conducive environment for academic exchanges.
