Representatives from Tulane University's Freeman School of Business visited SUFE COB

On the afternoon of November 15, Associate Dean of Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business, Xianjun Geng, visited our college. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the feasibility of expanding and deepening collaborative projects between the two institutions. The meeting was attended by Sun Qi, COB Associate Dean of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, along with Liu Songge, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Accreditation.

COB Associate Dean Sun Qi expressed his warm welcome to Dean Geng, providing a brief overview of the development history, research capabilities, faculty strength, and professional master’s degree programs of our University and our college. He then initiated a discussion on the challenges currently faced by international exchange programs and the future development trajectory of business schools. Sun further proposed exploring innovative and appealing forms of educational collaboration, as well as the possibility of diversifying cooperation models to address the issue of program homogeneity, thereby offering differentiated strategies for the sustainable development of both institutions' educational offerings.

Associate Dean Geng Xianjun provided an overview of Tulane University’s campus setup, student population, international collaborations, and academic development strategies. He highlighted the Freeman School of Business's disciplinary construction, academic achievements, distinctive courses, and employment outcomes. Dean Geng emphasized several potential directions for educational partnerships between Chinese and American universities, expressing a strong interest in expanding collaboration with our college, particularly in key disciplines and specialized fields, building on the existing cooperative foundation.

Finally, both parties engaged in an in-depth discussion on the specifics of the ongoing "MBA+X" dual-degree program and the student training model. They expressed a shared hope that this exchange would serve as a catalyst for advancing talent development initiatives and expanding areas of collaboration.
