The major National Social Science Fund project, "Research on New Major Power Trade Relations and Trade Interests in the Context of Global Value Chains" (Approval No. 18ZDA069), led by Professor Bao Xiaohua from our college, has successfully passed the final evaluation with an "Outstanding" rating after expert review. This marks the first time that a major national social science project undertaken by our university has received an outstanding rating.
This project aims to conduct an in-depth study of the evolving major power trade relations among major global powers within the context of deepening global value chains and their impact on trade interests. By incorporating these trade relations into the theoretical framework of global value chains, the research provides a profound analysis of the intricate interplay between global value chain production models and the complexity of major power trade relations. The study not only uncovers how these factors influence the mechanisms of trade benefit distribution but also holds significant theoretical and practical value for understanding and addressing future trade conflicts, as well as formulating policies that adapt to the restructuring of global value chains.
Relevant findings have been published in prestigious domestic and international journals, including Economic Quarterly, The World Economy, Journal of International Money & Finance, and Review of International Economics. Additionally, policy reports based on the research have received affirmative feedback from relevant authorities, demonstrating the project's positive academic and societal impact.
