Associate Dean Yuding Luo attended the Round-Table conference

On 12th July, 2011, the conference, called “the research of competition of the 21st century Business Schools in 2010-2011”, was held in Shanghai. Prof. Luo, associate Dean of College of Business, was invited to attend and discuss the topic which was the future of business schools’ education under the China’s economic restructuring pattern.
 
Mr. Tong Yunhuan, the Secretary-General of China MBA Education Steering Committee attended this meeting and made a speech. Business schools’ deans, such as Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management; Antai College of Economics and Management; Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, SJTU; School of Business, Renmin University of China; School of Management, Xiamen University and School of Management, Zhejiang University, participated in this conference. As one of the participates of this research, Mr. Yuan Yue, chairman of Horizon Research Consultancy Group, hosted this meeting.
 
Associate Dean Prof. Luo presented our school’s features in the round-table conference, he said “Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) was the first commerce university in China’s education history, the business education history can be traced back to 1917 when a commerce program was established at the Nanjing Higher Normal School. In 1921, the program was transferred east to Shanghai and became the Shanghai University of Commerce. This university was the first commerce university in China’s education history.”
 
In addition, associate Dean Prof. Luo accepted interview of "21st Century Business Herald”, he expressed his opinions about the issue that the faculty in current business schools is becoming younger and younger. In recent years, College of Business, SUFE has recruited more than 150 overseas professors and a lot of outstanding local professors as well. Moreover, the ratio of students and teachers is approximately 4:1 in MBA/EMBA program currently. This powerful faculty has become the distinctive feature in College of Business, SUFE.
