On June 22, 2021, Soft Science Ranking of Chinese Universities Subjectl  was released by Soft Science, a professional ranking of higher educationinstitutions. The programs rated in the top 2% or top 2 in the country are listed as A+ majors in the ranking. The College of Business (COB), Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE)  was rated four A + grades, and the three subjects of its undergraduate programs, namelyBusiness Administration, Marketing,Iinternational Economics and Trade, all received A+ grades in the ranking.

College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has two discipline categoriess: Management and Economics, and nowit has developed into a leading domestic business school covering three first-level disciplines of “Business Administration”, “Applied Economics” and “Theoretical Economics”. The school has been accredited by CAMEA, AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA successively. The College of Businessstrives to make substantial progress  in the discipline development, taking Business Administration as the core disciplineand  World Economy, International Trade and  Industrial Economics as the supporting disciplines, and seeks to promote the integration among different disciplines. Since the implementation of the “Double Ten Thousand Plan” by the Ministry of Education, all three subjects of COB’s undergraduate programs (Business Administration, International Economics and Trade, and Marketing) have all been selected as national first-class undergraduatesubjects.

In recent years, the College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has achieved a rising position in many influential rankings of its disciplines. Based on the excellence in the disciplines developed throughthe centennial development of SUFE, in the fourth discipline evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education of China, the disciplines of Business Administration and Applied Economics were rated A, ranked  in the top 2% to 5% in China.  The disciplines of economics and business of SUFE was rated among the top 1% in the world by ESI for two consecutive years.

iIn the 2021 U.S. News World University Rankings, the disciplines of economics and business of SUFE were ranked the 131st in the world, .the 6thin mainland China.  According to UTD Research Ranking Of Global Business Schools (2016-2020), SUFE was ranked the120th in the world, the3rd in mainland China.  SUFE’s MBA program ranks the.64th in the world, the 4th in mainland China in the 2021 FT Global MBA Ranking.

In the future, COB will continue to make high-quality development, taking talent cultivation as the fundamental task, to constantly explore the meaning of new business education, and to optimize the layout of academic disciplines, so as to achieve the goal of becoming a world renowned business school with distinctive characteristics of finance and economics. 

About the 2021 Soft Science Ranking of Chinese Universities

“Soft Science Ranking of Chinese universities” is currently the largest ranking system of undergraduate subjects of Chinese universities, which covers 509 undergraduate subjects.  Each ranking of the individual subjects covers only the schools which are ranked in the top 50% of all colleges offering the subject in China, with a total of 28,550 sybjects from 925 colleges listed in the ranking lists. The ranking indexesinclude five categories: school condition, subject support, source of students , graduates’ employment and subject condition, with 19 sub-indexes in total.
