On July 24, the Third Forum of the New Development Series of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics was held at BosiBuilding, in Zhongshan North No.1 Road campus. The theme of this forum is “New science and technology, new intelligence“.
Shen Feng, Executive Vice President And Chairman Of The Quality Committee Of Weilai, Xu Jiajia, vice president of Iflytek, Xu Yiya, alumnus of SUFE iMBA program and Senior Vice President of i Robotics, Yu Dianfan, Vice President of the China Industry Development Research Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Cui Lili, Executive Director of the E-commerce Research Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Chen Xi, Executive Director of SUFE’s iMBA program, and other guests including the presidents or secretaries-general of the alumni associations of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics from all over the country attended the forum. Despite of the typhoon, the meeting room was fully occupied, with more than 200 people attending the forum. Leaders from the College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics attended the forum and delivered speeches.
Shen Feng,the Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Quality Committee of Weilai, delivered a keynote speech entitled “Weilai’s Digital Innovation”. He believes that energy and intelligence will pave the way for automobile's future. From the innovation and personalization of hardware to the frequent upgrade of software, to the inter-connection of energy-supplement service systems, Weilai has been exploring and practicing the whole experience beyond expectation. All of this requires intelligent and digital management of the entire synergy chain.

Xu Jiajia, Vice President of Iflytek Co. Ltd, gave a speech on “Artificial intelligence helps the development of new intelligent manufacturing” taking the development of Iflytek as a case. Iflytek emphasizes on core technological innovation at the source as a technology innovation firm and has achieved significant progress in machine translation, natural language understanding, image recognition, knowledge atlas, and other areas. Iflytek adheres to the development strategy of “platform + track”. In 2010, Iflytek released the Xunfei Open Platform, an AI open platform with intelligent voice and human-computer interaction at its core, providing one-stop AI solutions for developers. The Xunfei Open Platform has gathered more than 1.756 million developers, with a total of more than 996,000 applications. On the basis of the platform, Iflytek continues to expand its industry track and has launched intelligent products and services covering a wide range of industries, promote the in-depth application in many fields, such as consumer, smart education, smart city, smart justice, smart service, smart car, smart health care, operators and so on.

Xu Yiya, Senior Vice President of i Robotics and iMBA alumnus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, gave a speech on “Development of the Artificial Intelligence Industry and Enterprise’s Practice”. Xu Yiya, has witnessed the company’s progress from an internet-based chatbots to commercial an AI-enabled enterprise for large and medium-sized business over the last decade. Meanwhile she pointed out that, AI has had quite a few applications, but this is just the beginning. Looking to the future, Xu believes AI is being commercialized in all aspects and will trigger profound changes in a number of industries. Artificial intelligence can not only reduce costs and increase efficiency, but also bring the innovation of products, service, business process, internal operations, as well as business models, even produce new species of industry. I robot will continue to focus on AI’s cognitive commercial landing, driving social intelligent changes, and allowing AI to make a difference in everyone's life.

Yu Dianfan, Vice President of the Industry Development Research Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, shared his thoughts on “The transformation and upgrading of China’s smart manufacturing under the Great Change”. He believes that manufacturing, especially smart manufacturing has become a battleground in the background of big industrial gaming into the forefront of the track. However, for a long time, our country's intelligent manufacturing's basic hardware and core industrial software have been heavily relying on imports; the “choke point” problem of the key core technology link is prominent, and the industrial chain is not well-coordinated between upstream and downstream enterprises. Problems such as ignoring the manufacturing base have caused high costs for domestic manufacturing enterprise intelligence transformation and low efficiency of the landing, which seriously restricted the overall progress of the intelligent manufacturing in China. To promote the intelligent manufacturing, we still need a down-to-earth attitude, and make up the work of automation and digitalization. On this basis, we can iterate through significant achievements and create a good industrial ecology to enhance the self-control ability of the whole industrial chain. By developing new business forms of intelligent service, we can generate new development for industrial upgrading.

Cui Lili, Executive Director of the E-commerce Research Institute of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Shen Feng, Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Quality Committee of Weilai, and Xu Jiajia, Vice President of Iflytek, Xu Yiya, Senior Vice President of i robotics, had in-depth discussions in the round table discussion session on the issues such as the industrial internet, digital transformation, and intelligent manufacturing. Students also asked questions on relevant issues.
