The "2023 SUFE-JINAN Empirical Industrial Organization Workshop" took place as scheduled at the Research and Experimental Building of SUFE.Distinguished scholars from prestigious institutions both domestically and internationally gathered to share their research findings about pertinent subjects.

Professor Gao Weihe, Associate Dean of SUFE COB, delivered the inaugural address. He extended a warm welcome to the scholars who had journeyed from both domestic and international locales. He provided a succinct overview of the school's vision, mission, academic disciplines, scientific research, faculty strength, international accreditations, and rankings. He expressed his hope that this academic conference would catalyze multifaceted exchanges, fostering collaborative research and generating novel perspectives on the future and industry through diverse lenses.

On the first day afternoon, the conference was presided over by Professor Mark

Roberts from Pennsylvania State University, Associate Professor Zhang Hongsong from the University of Hong Kong, and Associate Professor Zhu Dongni from Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Young scholars presented their papers under the themes of "Regular Session: Demand for New and Noteworthy Industries," "Power Session: Brainstorm Together," and "Power Session: New Talent in the Field."

On the second day, Associate Professor Zhang Hongsong from the University of Hong Kong delivered a keynote speech entitled "Demand-Driven Firm Heterogeneity and Performance." Professor Anyonghong from Texas A&M University chaired the "Platform Economics" session. The afternoon sessions were divided into two research themes: "IO and Chinese Economy" and "Vertical Relations." The two-day conference concluded successfully.
