On March 28, the event “Integrating Intelligence into Business, Shaping the Future” — marking the 35th Anniversary of China MBA Education and the 2026 MBA/EMBA Program Launch of the College of Business at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) — was successfully held at the SUFE Science Park.
The event comprised three sessions: Passing the Torch for Enduring Business Education, Alumni Synergy and Dialogue on Business Pathways, and Intelligence-Driven Progress for Cultivating Business Leaders. Focused on the transformation of business education and the cultivation of new business talents in the digital intelligence era, the event invited renowned experts and industry leaders to deliver keynote speeches and share insights. The new 2027 MBA/EMBA curriculum framework and 2027 admission policy were officially unveiled at the event.
Associate Dean Sun Qi of the College of Business, alumni Huang Xin and Huang Heng, mentor representatives, and numerous prospective applicants gathered to discuss new opportunities for the development of business education. The event was moderated by Feng Da, Executive Deputy Director of the MBA Center of the College of Business.

Passing the Torch for Enduring Business Education
On behalf of the College, Associate Dean Sun Qi extended a warm welcome to all guests. He noted that over the past 35 years, China’s MBA education has achieved a remarkable leap from introduction and localization to independent innovation and internationalization. As one of the first universities to offer MBA programs, SUFE boasts outstanding disciplinary strength and has earned multiple international accreditations, with its MBA program consistently ranking among the global top tier.
At the new milestone of the 35th anniversary, the College has upgraded the Digital Intelligence New Finance SUFE‑CORE Curriculum System in response to AI and industrial transformation, building core competitiveness through management fundamentals, AI literacy, industrial practice, and faculty empowerment. SUFE will continue to provide high‑quality business education to serve national development, and work with all sectors to advance the high‑quality growth of China’s business education and economy.
Professor Sun Zheng, Senior Professor at SUFE, delivered a keynote speech entitled Business Model Restructuring and Resilient Enterprise Development. Focusing on the current economic environment, core drivers of corporate development, and typical cases, he shared in‑depth insights to guide enterprises toward high‑quality development.
He pointed out that the global economy has entered the VUCA era with heightened uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, making it imperative for enterprises to strengthen development resilience. Enterprises should not only pursue profitability but also prioritize business model innovation, shifting from “making money” to “building value.” He emphasized that market competition is essentially competition among business models, which determine value creation, profit realization, resource integration, and process optimization.
Taking Tesla as an example, he analyzed its innovative business model — centered on intelligent R&D, data‑driven operations, diversified businesses, and capital support — providing valuable references for enterprises to enhance resilience and achieve sustainable development.
Alumni Synergy and Dialogue on Business Pathways
In the outstanding alumni sharing session, two distinguished alumni shared valuable experience of applying what they learned during their MBA studies to practice, under the theme “Empowerment from SUFE Business Education and Practice in the Digital‑Intelligent Era”.
Huang Xin, General Manager of Zhongzheng Daguang Fund, Member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Xuhui District Committee, and 2006 MBA alumnus, highlighted three key lessons from his SUFE MBA journey:
He also introduced profound changes in the fund industry, such as the evolution of customer identification from location‑based detection to transfer learning, federated learning, and financial simulation. He noted that the SUFE MBA carries a unique intellectual openness, encouraging everyone to embrace this mindset and forge ahead bravely in their business careers.
Huang Heng, General Manager of Nezha Port & Shipping Smart Technology Co., Ltd., and 2009 MBA alumnus, shared his personal experience and stressed the necessity for technical professionals to pursue an MBA. MBA learning helps break the limitations of technical thinking and enables high‑dimensional capital operation and strategic planning.
He pointed out that the SUFE MBA not only imparts management knowledge but also builds competitiveness in the era reshaped by AI and data. In the future workplace, interdisciplinary talents who understand business, master finance, and command AI will hold distinct advantages. He also emphasized lifelong learning to adapt to a rapidly changing era.
For prospective students, he advised: follow the national strategy and general trends; embrace cross‑disciplinary integration and master diverse skills; commit to lifelong learning and take the MBA as a starting point; uphold a sense of social responsibility and become accountable business leaders.
