On the morning of April 20, a delegation led by Professor Mark Brewer, Dean of the Business School at the University of St Andrews, and Ms. Wei Lin, Deputy Director of the University Admissions Office, visited the College of Business, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (COB, SUFE). The two sides held a cooperation and exchange meeting, conducted in-depth discussions on deepening all-round cooperation, and reached a number of important consensuses. Associate Dean Qi Sun received the guests.Songge Liu Director of the Office of International Exchange and Accreditation, and Yuying Wang, Senior Manager of International Exchange and Cooperation, attended the meeting as well.
At the beginning of the meeting, Associate Dean Sun Qi extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the College. He elaborated on the College’s achievements and future plans in disciplinary development, internationalization strategy and industry-education integration. He noted that COB, SUFE and the University of St Andrews share similar philosophies in business education and boast complementary strengths, laying a solid foundation and offering broad prospects for cooperation. He stressed that this meeting serves as a key opportunity to embark on a new journey of in-depth cooperation between the two sides. It is expected that both institutions will jointly explore innovative models for international business education collaboration.
Professor Mark Brewer, Dean of the Business School at the University of St Andrews, then introduced the university’s disciplinary advantages, international features, research strength in business studies and talent training models. He stated that the University of St Andrews highly values its cooperation with COB, SUFE, and looks forward to establishing an efficient cooperation platform based on the high-quality resources of both sides to facilitate complementary advantages, resource sharing and win-win development.
In the session on overall cooperation framework, the two sides had in-depth exchanges and reached extensive consensus on multiple areas, including student exchange, dual-degree programs, summer school programs, doctoral mobility and academic research cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to take this exchange as a new starting point to efficiently advance follow-up work and fully implement cooperation arrangements. Both parties will jointly elevate the internationalization level of business education at the two universities, and strive to cultivate more high-caliber business talents with global competitiveness.
