Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee Shared His Forensic Life in a Special Event of the Financial Professionals’ Association

On October 16th of 2015, a special event of the Financial Professional’s Association was held successfully in the Assembly Hall at Guoding Road Campus by SUFE College of Business. The keynote speaker Dr. Henry Chang-Yu Lee, one of the world’s foremost forensic scientists, shared his forensic life with an audience of up to a thousand. Prof. Sun Zheng, Director of SUFE Academic Committee and Dean of SUFE COB, presented him a caricature as a gift on behalf of the University and Dr. Lee in return, presented his authorized biography Making the Impossible Possible.

“The one and only thing I do all my life is to make the impossible possible.” Said Dr. Lee, who was born in Rugao, Jiangsu, when introducing the ups and downs in his life. “When I was a kid, I never dreamed of standing here one day to share my story with everyone. Life is a tortuous journey, yet we have to keep modest and prudent.”

In his speech, Dr. Lee shared with the audience Four Keys to success— “ The skills in getting along with people, in communicating with others, in managing time and in administering business.” He also warned the young people “not to take money as the measurement of things, for all those acquired by money and power prove nothing. Only properly applied knowledge and experience are the true to us.” Dr. Lee talked on the importance of ethics and integrity several times. When asked how to make impossible possible, he answered, “ you need to train your mind, pursuit your dream, conceive your idea, and finally realize your goal.”

“The more I help others to succeed, the more I succeed.” Dr. Lee quoted Recy Kroc and shared with everyone his recent thoughts, “I feel that I’m very happy, though sometimes unpleasant things do happen, I believe it shall pass soon if I hang in there with patience.” Dr. Lee’s humorous speech won the applause from time to time. He distributed some commemorative medals and signed postcards as souvenirs to the audience who took part in the interaction.
