A 12-Year Bond of Gratitude: A Relay of love from 200,000 to 2 Million Yuan

Alumna Li Yanli's charitable donation dates back to 2013. On October 9 of that year, she and her husband Zhao Huixin made their first donation of 200,000 yuan to establish the "Li Yanli Inspirational Scholarship" at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, dedicated to supporting graduate students. At the donation ceremony held at the Administrative Building on the Guoding Road Campus, Li Yanli personally handed the cashier's check to President Fan Liming, who presented a donation certificate in return. Their photo together captured the warmth and sincerity of this meaningful moment.

Twelve years later, on the occasion of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics' 108th anniversary, Li Yanli and her husband once again made a generous donation, increasing the amount to 2 million yuan and expanding the scope of support to cover students in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs who are in need of assistance. She hopes that through this gesture, she can encourage students to persevere, strive forward, achieve academic success, and eventually serve the country with what they have learned.

Co-construction of Alumni Ecosystem: The College of Business’ Concept of a "Co- Development Community"

The College of Business of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics has always upheld the concept of building a “co-development community with alumni”. It has built an "integrated alumni service platform" connecting online and offline through a three-tier service system consisting of the foundation layer, platform layer, and application layer. In recent years, the College has reorganized the MBA and EMBA Alumni Association, integrated alumni clubs and independent platforms, held numerous alumni events, established strategic cooperation with multiple enterprises, and continuously promoted the integration of industry and education.

From 200,000 to 2 million yuan, and from supporting only graduate students to covering all academic levels, the donation journey of Li Yanli and her husband reflects the broader commitment of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics alumni towards their alma mater. With the deepening of university-enterprise cooperation and the expansion of the alumni network, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics will further strengthen the positive cycle of donation–cultivation–contribution, ensuring that the culture of gratitude and giving is passed down from generation to generation.
